With the Garmin Edge 1030 GPS bike computer, you'll be on the road longer, better, and always up to date. Trendline Popularity Routing shows you the best road and cross-country routes based on billions of kilometers of route data. Whether at a competition, on the way to work or on adventures with Garmin technology, your tour will be even better. Equipped with the latest navigation tools, the Garmin Edge 1030 is compatible with wide range of cycling accessories to measure important aspects of your performance. Bicycle safety products are also supported, which can increase safety when cycling.  Create a perfect cycling network with Garmin. The Edge is the starting point. Since the launch of the online community Garmin Connect™, cyclists have uploaded billions of kilometers of track data. Now is the time to use this data for Trendline Popularity Routing. When the Edge 1030 creates a route for you, it finds the best route using the roads (and paths) most used by other cyclists. The optimized and redesigned route planner in Garmin Connect gives you another way to create routes that are good for bikes based on popularity data.

Garmin is your navigator, both on the road and off-road. A bike map is pre-installed on the Edge 1030 bike computer. It also provides turn-by-turn instructions and new navigation alerts to warn you of the next sharp turns. During the tour, you can get information about altitude data, display points of interest and search for addresses. RoundTrip routing even creates a route for you. Just enter a distance and start directly on the Edge 1030 and you can choose up to 3 routes. If you get off the route, that's no problem, because the device will lead you back on the right track. When planning long tours, you can rely on the Edge 1030. The battery lasts up to 20 hours and with the new integrated Garmin Charge battery pack, the Edge has as much endurance as you do. If your passengers are a little faster or slower, you don't need to reach for your phone or worry. Sending messages between riders allows you to send predefined messages from your Edge 1030 to your riders' Edge. Tell your friends if you'll catch up with them in a few minutes or if they should drive up without you. If you have a flat tire or need help, you can send a message to your riders whose equipment is paired via GroupTrack so they can find you.

However, the Edge 1030 has other online features to offer. If you missed a call or an SMS, just send a predefined message, for example, Be home soon. Have your friends and family and even your passengers follow your tours in real time with LiveTrack and GroupTrack so they don't have to worry. Uploads to Garmin Connect are done automatically. You can also download apps and widgets from the Connect IQ™ store and even easily update the device software via WLAN. The Edge 1030 can be used with our new flat mount, which mounts the unit at handlebar level rather than above the handlebar. This makes the Edge more aerodynamic. Optional accessories can also be easily replaced, such as the Garmin Charge battery pack or devices from our Varia™ family of bicycle safety products. The Edge 1030 is compatible with Varia radar and bicycle lighting for increased cycling safety. The integrated accident detection automatically sends your position to an emergency contact if you have problems.
